Planning - Kelly's favourite part!

Hi to all our friends and family!

It's time to prepare for our next adventure and that means one thing... yep another travel blog! :-)

We create these blogs for a couple reasons... first to share with family and friends as our adventure progresses and second, as a digital record for us as we age and become more and more forgetful :-)

I asked Kelly to book a Panama cruise so we could experience that part of the world and see this amazing engineering marvel in action. I have had lots of friends say that these are one of their favorite cruises! Apparently she was not listening because she booked us a lovely transatlantic out of Barcelona, Spain. Say what? The Panama, which by the way is a long was from Spain, will just have to wait for another cruise.

On to this adventure.......

Initial plans included us flying over and staying in Sitges ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitges ) just southwest of Barcelona and booking into a neat little seaside room there. As our schedule started to come together we managed to get a great deal on airfare for positive space seat (no airline passes!) on Air France via Paris. This freed up some "travel days" so we decided to add a week's worth of cruising out of Barcelona and cancelled the Sitges visit.  This additional one week cruise just so happens to be on the same Royal Caribbean mega ship "Harmony of the Seas" that will do our transatlantic voyage. How convenient is that!

So this isn't just another ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet... oh no, this is the worlds largest passenger vessel built to date. (I just hope I can find my room!!) Complete details are available at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Harmony_of_the_Seas

We will start our vacation after work on October 13th so expect some activity on this blog on that date... or earlier if something interesting comes up.
